Thanks for choosing my saga to read

Here goes the first part of ♤Mila Hoon Ab Jo Tum Se♤

Mumbai
Maheswari Mansion

After a long, tiring day at the office, all Sameer wanted was a cup of tea and a good night’s sleep. After freshening up, he headed to the kitchen, only to spot a little intruder. Tiptoeing up to her, he whispered in her ear, "I thought this pani puri was for me."

The unexpected sound of her father’s voice startled Netra, causing the pani puri in her hand to fall to the floor. She spun around to see her father kneeling behind her, hands on his hips and eyebrows raised. Shocked by his sudden appearance and his stern expression, she put on her best smile and exclaimed, “PAPAA.. When did you get here? You have no idea how much I missed you!”

With that, she threw her arms around Sameer’s neck, hugging him tightly. Seeing his daughter’s adorable grin, Sameer's pretend anger melted away. He hugged her back, whispering, “Papa missed his Nain too.”

Holding his little girl close, all of Sameer's fatigue seemed to disappear. Pulling back with a playful stern look, he asked, “So, it’s 11 p.m., and you’re here in the kitchen eating pani puri instead of sleeping?”

Knowing her father could never stay mad at her, Netra replied sweetly, “No, I was just missing you and waiting for you.”

“Oh, really? And instead of waiting, you decided to snack on my pani puri?” Sameer asked, eyebrows raised. “Didn’t you already have some this evening? And didn’t you say you were saving these for me?”

Netra playfully slapped her forehead. “Ohh, fine, let me explain! But first, get up and sit here on the counter and hold me—you’ll get sore sitting on your knees like that!” Gently tugging him over to the counter, she settled herself on his lap.

Touched by her caring words, Sameer lifted her onto his lap and kissed her cheek. “Alright, now tell me why you’re in the kitchen.” Although he already knew she’d give him an innocent story that would make his heart melt.

With her hands waving in the air, Netra started to explain in a sweet voice, “I was waiting for you while watching Tangled, and then I remembered your pani puri was here. So, I thought I’d check if Ramdhari chachu added any extra spice—just tasting it, you know.”

“Oh? And why would Ramdhari chachu put extra spice in my pani puri?”

“Well, you and chachu keep bickering all day long!” Netra replied with an innocent expression. Little did she know her father could see through her words; as her name Netra suggested, her eyes always spoke the truth, and he could read them well. Right now, her eyes were saying she simply wanted to eat the pani puri.

Listening to her, Sameer kissed both her cheeks and said with an amused smile, “Awww… my Nain cares so much about her Papa. Papa loves Nain so much.”

"N Nain loves her Papa soo soo soo....... much" she replied, spreading her arms wide with a big grin.

“Alright, so was there any extra spice?” Sameer asked, as though probing for a deep secret. Netra shook her head, giggling.

Sameer placed her on the kitchen counter and walked over to where the pani puri was kept, saying, “So then, I can eat all of these, right?” To which she pouted, “Puriii!!!”

“Yes, puri,” he replied, clasping his hands together with a smirk. Popping the first pani puri into his mouth, he glanced sideways to see her sad little pout.

Seeing his doll’s disappointed expression, he pretended to think, “But, I don’t think I can eat all of these myself. I might need some help. Who could help me finish them?” Hearing this, Netra’s face lit up, and she raised her hand excitedly. “Me!!”

Sameer scooped her up. “Well then, what are we waiting for? Let’s finish these together!” With that, he filled a puri and placed it in her mouth, and then she returned the favor, placing the next one in his. They fed each other, laughing as Netra snuck in two turns for every one he took, citing his “slow eating” and their “need to finish fast so they could sleep.”

When they were done, Sameer held her on his lap again and asked, “Did you enjoy it?”

With a wide grin, she replied, “A lot! And I know you ate less just so I could have more because you know I love pani puri!”

“Oh, you know everything, huh? Let’s see if you can escape now!” he said, tickling her as their laughter filled the kitchen.

After their giggles faded, Sameer said, “Alright, now it’s time for bed.”

Netra just nodded, her eyes already heavy with sleep. He lifted her, carrying her to her room, and gently tucked her in, stroking her head until she drifted off. As she slept, he kissed her forehead and whispered, “You deserve all the happiness in the world, my princess, and I’ll always protect you. I love you, Nain, my precious girl.” With that, he lay beside her, continuing to stroke her hair until sleep finally took him too.

Amid all this, what they didn’t notice was that their little kitchen exchange was quietly observed by two misty-eyed figures, smiling with emotion at the beautiful bond between father and daughter.
